What if there was a show that taught kids the joys of science in a fun way?
What if it was made specifically for children in a way that would keep them engaged?
Today, I'd like to introduce Bill Nye, the science guy!
ビル・ナイ・ザ・サイエンス・ガイは、若い視聴者向けに制作されたアメリカの科学教育テレビ番組です。
1993 年 4 月 14 日に初放送され、1999 年 2 月 5 日に終了するまで 6 シーズン 100 話が放送されました。
この番組では、青い白衣と蝶ネクタイを身につけた主人公のビル・ナイが登場しました。
Bill Nye the Science Guy is an American science education TV program created for young viewers.
It premiered on April 14th, 1993 and ran for 6 seasons and 100 episodes, concluding on February 5th, 1999.
The program featured the titular character Bill Nye who worse a blue lab coat and a bowtie.

Each episode, Bill would introduce a theme for the episode.
With the theme established, an expert would be introduced to talk about the topic, followed by Bill Nye, an experiment, and various comedic skits.
There are many onsite locations visited during each episode to give the viewers many real world examples.

The truth is, yes, he is!
Bill held a job at Boeing from 1977 to 1985 where he was an engineer for the 747 airliner.
At night he would attend comedy clubs where he began to get involved with standup.
After leaving Boeing he worked on a Seattle based sketch comedy show called Almost Live!
It was on this show that Bill's science guy persona began to form.

The show won 19 Emmy Awards during its run.
Despite it being an educational program kids found it to also be fun and informative.
It even had a theme song that you can never forget!
