今日もパワパフガールズの話を続けます！
Earlier in the month we discussed Cartoon Network and Dexter's Laboratory.
Today, I let's continue the discussion with Power Puff Girls!
『デクスターズ・ラボラトリー』はカートゥーン ネットワークが制作した最初のオリジナル漫画で、『パワーパフ ガールズ』は 2 番目でした。
もともとは1998年11月に初演され、6シーズンにわたって放送されました。
その成功により、3 つの TV スペシャルと長編映画も制作されました。
Dexter's Laboratory was the first original cartoon produced by Cartoon Network and Powerpuff Girls was the second.
It originally premiered in November of 1998 and ran for 6 seasons.
Due to it's success, there were also 3 TV specials and a feature film produced.
1998 年に初演されましたが、このシリーズのルーツは 1992 年までさかのぼることができます。
シリーズの作成者であるクレイグ・マクラッケンは、カリフォルニア芸術大学または略してCalArtsとして知られるカリフォルニアのアニメーション大学に通いながら、パワーパフガールズのコンセプトを作成しました。
オリジナルの短編映画は「Whoopass Stew!」というタイトルでした。 「フーパスガールズ」として知られる3人の少女が登場しました。
名前を変更した後、1995年にカートゥーン ネットワークのパイロット エピソードが作成されました。
元のパイロットはデクスターズ・ラボラトリーと一緒に放映され、より人気があることが証明されました。

Although premiering in 1998, the series can trace it's roots back to 1992.
The series creator, Craig McCracken, created the concept for the Power Puff Girls while attending the animation college in California known as California Institute of the Arts or CalArts for short.
The original short film was titled "Whoopass Stew!" and featured 3 little girls known as the "Whoopass Girls".
After changing the name, a pilot episode was created for Cartoon Network in 1995.
The original pilot aired along side Dexter's Laboratory, which proved to be more popular.
Groups of 11 year old male test audiences also didn't connect with the characters.
With encouragement from friends and colleagues, McCraken continued on, and another pilot was aired in 1996.
This time it was met with great success and was selected by Cartoon Network to become a full series.

デビュー後も子供から大人までネットのオリジナルシリーズとしては一貫して最高視聴率を記録。
The November 1998 debut was a massive success, being the highest-rated premiere in Cartoon Network's history at the time.
Even after the debut, it would consistently have the highest rating for an original series on the network among a demographic of children to adults.

彼らの父であり創作者であるユートニウム教授は、完璧な少女を作りたいと考えていました。

The series is about 3 kindergarten aged girls which have super powers.
Their father and creator, Professor Utonium, wanted to make the perfect little girls.
He created a formula of sugar, spice, and everything nice but a extra ingredient was added, chemical X.
The three girls all have super strength, speed, and the ability to fly among other powers as well.
各エピソードは 2 つの別々のストーリーに分かれています。
各ストーリーには通常、スーパーヒーロー、特撮、またはポップ カルチャーのパロディが含まれます。
ただし、個人の衛生状態、学校への通学、兄弟のライバル関係など、より根拠のあるエピソードがいくつかあります。
子供の頃、私はショーが素晴らしいと思っていて、アクションとユーモアのセンスが混ざり合っているのが大好きでした。
Each episode is split into two separate stories.
Each story usually involves a parody on superheroes, tokusatsu, or pop-culture.
However, there are some episodes which are more grounded involving things like personal hygiene, going to school, and sibling rivalries.
As a kid, I thought the show was fantastic, and loved its sense of humor mixed with action.
2002 年 7 月 3 日、パワーパフ ガールズの映画がアメリカで初公開されました。
実は、父に映画を見に連れて行ってくれるよう頼んだのを覚えています！
好評を博しましたが、映画は興行収入で爆撃されました。
セルアニメからデジタルアニメに移行した時期でもあります。
映画とシーズン4の終わりに続いて、クリエイターは次のプロジェクトを追求するためにシリーズを去りました。
On July 3, 2002, the Powerpuff Girls movie premiered in America.
In fact, I remember asking my dad to take me to see the movie!
Although it received positive reviews, the movie bombed at the box office.
This was also when the show transitioned from cel animation to digital animation.
Following the movie and the end of season 4, the creator left the series to pursue his next project.
パワーパフ ガールズは、カートゥーン ネットワークにとって決定的な番組であり、多くの人が視聴しました。
現在でも多くのファンがおり、シリーズは新しい視聴者向けにリメイクされています。
2006年から2007年にかけて、パワーパフガールズZというタイトルの日本で制作されたアニメさえありました！
Powerpuff Girls was a defining show for Cartoon Network, and many of the people who watched it.
Even today, there are still many fans and the series is being remade for new audiences.
From 2006 to 2007 there was even a Japanese produced anime titled Powerpuff Girls Z!
