今日は有名な雪だるま、フロスティを見ていきます。
I want to introduce another Christmas character to you.
Today, we are going to look at the famous snowman, Frosty.
フロスティの起源は1950年にさかのぼります。
ヒット曲「赤鼻のトナカイ ルドルフ」の翌年。
ルドルフの影響を受けた後、ウォルター "ジャック" ローリンズとスティーブ ネルソンという 2 人の男性が独自のクリスマス ソングを書きました。
この歌は、魔法の帽子で生き返る雪だるまについてです。
タイトルは「フロスティ・ザ・スノーマン」。
The origin of Frosty dates back to 1950.
This was a year after the hit song "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer".
After being influenced by Rudolph, two men named Walter "Jack" Rollins and Steve Nelson wrote their own Christmas song.
The song is about a snowman who comes to life by a magic hat.
It is titled "Frosty the Snowman".

1950 also saw a children's book written about Frosty and a short 3 minute short film.
Although the song became an annual Christmas tradition, it wasn't until 1969's 25 minute TV special that really cemented Frosty's reputation.

Instead of stop motion, they opted for traditional animation.
The animation was created by the legendary Mushi Productions, headed by Osamu Tezuka.
Although Tezuka didn't work on the project directly, it was directed by Osamu Dezaki.
TV スペシャルの後、フロスティはホリデー シーズンの主力となりました。
After the TV Special, Frosty became a mainstay of the holiday season.
