日本では 1970 年代にアニメーションが非常に人気になりました。
1980年代に入ると、バブル経済から容易に資金が流入したため、多くの企業が実験的で高品質のアニメプロジェクトをスポンサーするようになりました。
バブル後の 1990 年代もアニメのトレンドが続いているように見えましたが、現在は 80 年代にスキルを磨いた多くの人がそのトレンドを牽引しています。
残念ながら、資金が自由に流れなくなり、スポンサー付きプロジェクトが投資から利益を得ることが重要になりました。
In Japan, the 1970's saw animation become very popular.
Into the 1980's many companies would sponsor experimental and high quality anime projects due to money flowing easily from the bubble economy.
After the bubble, the 1990's seemed to continue the trend of anime, but now led by many who had honed their skills in the 80's.
Unfortunately, money stopped flowing so freely and it was important for sponsored projects to make a return on investments.
ルールが厳しくなったにもかかわらず、90年代にはアニメはまだ自由に繁栄し、ユニークで興味深い番組がたくさん見られました。
今日は1990年代の懐かしいアニメについてお話したいと思います。

Despite the stricter rules, anime would still freely flourish in the 90's, and we saw many unique and interesting shows.
Today, I want to tell you about a nostalgic anime from the 1990's.
Let's talk about Tenchi Muyo!
1992年9月にOVAとして発売され、タイトルは『天地無用！ りょうおうき。
これは、鍛治島正樹が制作し、林広樹が監督した6話のシリーズでした。
このシリーズは引き続き成功を収め、テレビスペシャル「天地無用！」と並行して特別な第7話も制作されました。 スペシャル: カーニバル前夜と独立したエピソード「天地無用!」 美星スペシャル。
1994 年までにこのシリーズは成功を収め続け、2 番目の OVA シリーズがリリースされました。
Starting as an OVA released in September of 1992, it was titled Tenchi Muyō! Ryōōki.
This was a six-episode series created by Masaki Kajishima and directed by Hiroki Hayashi.
The series would go on to see success with a special seventh-episode being produced along side a TV special titled Tenchi Muyo! Special: The Night Before the Carnival and a stand-alone episode titled Tenchi Muyo! Mihoshi Special.
By 1994 the series continued to be successful and a second OVA series would be released.

In 1994, the production company, Pioneer LDC would begin to look into having the first 6-episode OVA adapted into a TV anime series.
Animation company AIC would be responsible for creating the series.
Airing in April, 1995 the Tenchi Muyo the TV anime began, running for 26-episodes and finishing in September of the same year.
The TV anime series is what is best known in America.
It was broadcasted in the United States from July to August, 2000.
物語は主人公の天地を中心に展開します。
日本の田舎に住んでいる彼は、森の中で魎呼という女性に出会う。
魎呼は宇宙海賊に追われているので保護が必要だと告げる。
魎呼を引き取った宇宙警察の追跡により、魎呼の正体が宇宙海賊であることが判明する。
宇宙警察の美星と宇宙海賊の魎呼は戦いを始めるが、どちらの船も大破して帰れなくなってしまう。
少しずつ女性キャラクターが到着し、立ち往生します。
17歳の天地は、大勢の女性たちと同居することになり、彼女たちも彼に好意を寄せている。
The story revolves around the main protagonist, Tenchi.
Living in rural Japan he happens upon a woman in the woods named Ryoko.
She tells him that she's being pursued by space pirates and needs shelter.
After taking her in, the space police track her down and it's revealed that Ryoko is actually the space pirate.
Mihoshi of the space police and Ryoko the space pirate begin to fight, but both of their ships are damaged and they can't return home.
Little by little more female characters arrive and become stranded.
17 year old Tenchi finds himself now living with a large group of women who all develop feelings for him.
このコンセプトが 10 代の少年にとってなぜ興奮するのかは簡単に理解できます。
母親に本屋で漫画の新刊を買ってもらったのですが、表紙に少し露出度の高い女性が描かれていて恥ずかしかったのを覚えています。
20年以上アニメを見ていないので、どんな感じだったのか思い出せません。
それにもかかわらず、私は今でも登場人物たちに深い懐かしい感情を抱いています。
私は子供の頃、間違いなく魎呼に憧れていました。
It's easy to understand why this concept would be exciting for a young teenage boy.
I remember asking my mom to buy me new volumes of the manga from the bookstore, but being embarrassed by the slightly revealing women on the cover.
Not having watched the anime in over 20 years, I can't recall how it is.
Despite that, I still have deep nostalgic feelings for the characters.
I definitely had a crush on Ryoko as a kid.
TVアニメシリーズ終了後、OVA第3弾、第4弾も制作された。
2019年にはOVA第5弾も制作中であることが発表されました。
テレビアニメシリーズも3本の続編と3本の長編映画が制作されました。

After the TV anime series premiered a 3rd and 4th OVA had also been produced.
In 2019, it was announced that a 5th OVA is also being worked on.
The TV anime series also saw 3 sequels and 3 feature-length films as well.
All of this has also coincided with games, novels, and a plethora of other merchandise.
現在ではそれほど広く知られていませんが、天地無用は、最初のリリース当時は愛されたアニメ シリーズでした。
当時周囲にいた人にとって、それは常に楽しい思い出をもたらすでしょう。

Although not as widely remembered today, Tenchi Muyo was an anime series that was beloved during the time of it's initial release.
