Today we will take a short break from our Mario marathon to talk about Star Wars!
子供の頃、私はスターウォーズの大ファンでした。
発見したのは小学生の時。
ある夜、テレビで映画「帝国の逆襲」を見て、その虜になったのを覚えています。
それまでスターウォーズを見たことがなく、途中から見始めました。
両親が 1996 年頃に VHS テープを買ってくれて、何度も繰り返し見ました。
As a kid, I was a big Star Wars fan.
I discovered it when I was in elementary school.
I remember seeing the movie The Empire Strikes Back on TV one night and being captivated by it.
I had never seen Star Wars before that, and I only started watching it midway through.
My parents bought me the VHS tapes around 1996 and I watched them over and over.
もうスターウォーズにはあまり興味がありませんが、映画のオリジナル 3 部作は今でも大好きです。
素晴らしい映画だと思いますし、映画が好きな人なら誰でも見るべきだと思います。
Although I'm not so interested in Star Wars anymore, I still love the original trilogy of movies.
I think they are fantastic films and should be watched by anyone who loves movies.
近年、スター・ウォーズの人気が爆発的に高まっています。
1999 年から 2005 年にかけて、ジョージ ルーカスが制作したスター ウォーズの前日譚映画を見ました。
その後、ディズニーは 2015 年から 2019 年にかけて続編の 3 部作を作成しました。

In recent years, Star Wars has exploded in popularity.
From 1999 to 2005 we saw the Star Wars prequel movies created by George Lucas.
Afterward, Disney created the sequel trilogy from 2015 to 2019.
Many other games, books, and TV shows have also been created as well.
スター・ウォーズのフランチャイズは、1977 年のオリジナルの 3 部作から劇的に変化したと思いますが、ファンはまだ満足できません。
これが、特別な日が作成された理由です。
スター ウォーズ デーは 5 月 4 日で、スター ウォーズ ファンが集まってフランチャイズへの愛を祝う日です。

これは、5 月 4 日が「May the Force be with you」というキャッチフレーズの語呂合わせだからです。
「force」を「fourth」に置き換えると、「May the Fourth be with you」または May 4th になります。
I feel the Star Wars franchise has changed drastically from the original 1977 trilogy, but fans still can't get enough.
This is why a special day has been created.
Star Wars Day is May 4th, a day when Star Wars fans can come together to celebrate their love for the franchise.
But why is it on May 4th?
Well, this is because May 4th is a pun on the catchphrase "May the Force be with you".
If you replace the word "force" with "fourth" it becomes "May the Fourth be with you", or May 4th.

Margaret Thatcher was elected Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and her political party congratulated her with an advertisement saying "May the Fourth Be with You, Maggie. Congratulations."
