ニンジャ タートルズの 1 作目、2 作目、4 作目のゲームについて話したので、3 作目のゲームについて話さないのは間違っていると感じました。
3 作目も子供の頃大好きだったゲームの 1 つだったので、いよいよこのゲームでニンジャ タートルズの取材を終えたいと思います。
それでは今日は、『ティーンエイジ・ミュータント・ニンジャ・タートルズ III: マンハッタン・プロジェクト』についてお話しましょう!
Since I talked about the first, second, and fourth Ninja Turtles games I felt wrong not talking about the 3rd game.
The 3rd game was also one of my favorite games as a kid so I want to finally finish up my Ninja Turtles coverage with this game.
So today, let's talk about Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: The Manhattan Project!
1992 年 2 月に北米でリリースされた TMNTIII: The Manhattan Project は、TMNTII に似た横スクロールの格闘ゲームです。
TMNTIII の特徴は、アーケード版がリリースされておらず、コナミが Nintendo Entertainment System 向けに作成した完全なオリジナル ゲームであるという点です。
Released in North America in February of 1992 TMNTIII: The Manhattan Project is a side-scrolling beat-'em-up similar to TMNTII.
TMNTIII is distinct in the fact that it never had an arcade version released and was a wholly original game created by Konami for the Nintendo Entertainment System.
マンハッタン プロジェクトは TMNTII と非常によく似ています。
4 人のタートル キャラクターのうち 1 人を選択してプレイすることができ、2 人目のプレイヤーが参加することもできます。
3 番目のゲームの追加機能は、特別な攻撃の導入です。
これらは、使用すると自分のライフを枯渇させる強力な攻撃です。
The Manhattan Project plays very similarly to TMNTII.
You can choose 1 of the four turtle characters to play as and a second player can also join in.
An added feature for the third game is the introduction of special attacks.
These are powerful attacks that deplete your own life when used.
ゲームのプロットには、タートルズの宿敵シュレッダーが関係します。
今回シュレッダーはマンハッタンの区全体を地面から持ち上げて浮島に変えることに成功した。
その過程で、シュレッダーはカメの友人であるエイプリル・オニールも捕らえました。
彼はカメたちに自分を見つけて倒すように挑戦します。
The game's plot involves the turtle's arch-nemesis Shredder.
This time Shredder has managed to lift the entire borough of Manhattan from the ground and turn it into a floating island.
In the process, Shredder has also captured the turtle's friend, April O'Neil.
He challenges the turtles to find him and defeat him.
北米でのリリース時、このゲームは批評家から好評を博しました。
ゲーム雑誌「Electronic Gaming Monthly」では、1992 年の Best NES Game も受賞しています。
Upon release in North America, the game was well-received by critics.
It has even won Best NES Game of 1992 by the gaming magazine Electronic Gaming Monthly.
『マンハッタン プロジェクト』は日本でもリリースされ、北米版よりも数か月早くリリースされました。
1991年12月に発売されました。
両方のバージョン間にいくつかの非常に小さな違いが見られますが、大きな違いはありません。
しかし、ニンジャ タートルズの第 2 作は日本では発売されなかったため、このゲームは第 2 作として名前が変更されました。
日本のゲーム雑誌、ファミ通はこのゲームに 27/40 のスコアを与えました。
The Manhattan Project was also released in Japan and even a couple of months earlier than the North American version.
It was released in December 1991.
Some very minor differences can be found between both versions but nothing major.
However, the second Ninja Turtles game was never released in Japan, so this game was renamed as the second game.
Japanese gaming magazine, Famitsu, gave the game a score of 27/40.

As a kid, I had all three Ninja Turtles games on the NES.
Of the three this one was my favorite.
The third game even has the special distinction of having the first stage of the game take place in Key West, Florida!
Finally, all the Ninja Turtles games I've talked about were released in a compilation in 2022 called "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection".
I don't own this compilation at the time of this writing, but if it ever goes on sale I'd like to buy it!
さて、ようやくニンジャ・タートルズについて話すのは終わりかもしれません。
正直に言うと、このテーマについてこれほど多くのことを書くとは予想していませんでしたが、書き始めると、忍者タートルズが私の子供時代にどれほど大きな影響を与えたかを思い出し、多くの思い出を思い出しました。
正直に言うと、ニンジャ タートルズに関するトピックはあと 3 ～ 4 つくらい書けるかもしれませんが、今は満足していると思います。

Now, perhaps I'm finally done talking about Ninja Turtles.
To be honest, I didn't expect to write so much on this topic but as I began writing I remembered how much Ninja Turtles affected my childhood and recalled many memories.
To be honest, there are probably 3 or 4 more ninja turtles topics I could write about but I think I'm satisfied right now.
