Today, I want to share a special story about an elderly man who decided to study English.

The story is about an elderly Polish man named Robert.
After buying a set of beginner English books, he sets out on his journey to study the language.
We see him take his first steps practicing the basics of “I am; you are; he/she is”.
After, he humorously decorates his house with memos to increase his vocabulary.
We also get a humorous bit where he practices some harsh words he heard in a movie.
しかし問題は、なぜこの初老のポーランド人男性がそこまでして英語を勉強するのかということだ。

老紳士は「DOG」から覚えていったのですね。レベルは同じです。
数年前、１０日間滞在したNYの息子の家からの帰路、空港ラウンジで老眼鏡を無くしました（買ったばかり、しかも高価）ついさっきまでここにあったのに。インフォメーションにすぐに行き、「ケースは黒の楕円形、メガネは青の迷彩柄」すぐに英訳出来ず手振りでやっとこ通じた苦い体験が今よみがえりました。笑笑笑
私もメモをペタペタ貼って少しはやってみよっカナ。
