In early March we talked about a few different basketball topics.
Today, I have another basketball topic for you.
However, it is not about traditional basketball, it is about a movie.
A movie with Michael Jordan and cartoon characters!
Let's talk about Space Jam!
『スペース・ジャム』は、1996年11月にワーナー・ブラザースから公開された実写/アニメーション映画です。
この映画はマイケル・ジョーダンが架空の自分を演じたことで有名です。
ジョーダンには、バッグス・バニー、ダフィー・ダック、ポーキー・ピッグなどを含む有名なルーニー・テューンのキャラクターの漫画キャストが加わります。
他の多くの有名なバスケットボール選手も映画全体にカメオ出演しています。
Space Jam is a live-action/animated movie released by Warner Bros. in November of 1996.
The movie is famous for starring Michael Jordan who plays a fictionalized version of himself.
Jordan is joined by a cartoon cast of famous Looney Tune characters including Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, and more.
Many other famous basketball athletes make cameo appearances throughout the movie as well.

He is now pursuing a career in professional baseball.
However, deep in space is an intergalactic amusement park.
The proprietor, Mr. Swackhammer, is looking for a way to boost declining sales and learns about the Looney Tunes.
He now plans to capture the Looney Tunes and use them as attractions in his amusement park.
自由のためにバスケットボールの試合に出場しなければならないルーニー・テューンズは、ジョーダンのことを知り、彼の協力を求めます。

The Looney Tunes who must now compete in a basketball game for their freedom learn about Jordan and enlist his help.
Jordan is pulled into the Looney Tune universe and reluctantly agrees to help.
He soon learns that none of the Looney Tunes can play basketball and needs to coach them.
They begin their basketball game and realize winning will be much harder than anticipated.

For me, Space Jam was one of my favorite movies as a kid.
I wasn't even interested in basketball, but found the movie to be exciting and fun to watch.
The music was also very impactful and I'm looking forward to talking about that soon.
A sequel was eventually made in 2021 but it couldn't compare to the original.
