We previously talked about the basketball movie Space Jam.
If you've ever seen the movie there there is no doubt that you will remember the music.
The theme song for the movie in particular is quite memorable.
It had a big impact on me as a kid.

映画『スペース・ジャム』のテーマ曲も『スペース・ジャム』というタイトルで、1996年12月3日にリリースされました。
この曲はフロリダ州ジャクソンビル出身のQuad City DJsというグループによって作成されました。
Quad City DJs は、その名前が示すとおり、メンバーはわずか 3 人です。
The theme song for the film Space Jam is also titled Space Jam and was released on December 3rd, 1996.
The song was created by a group called Quad City DJs who are from Jacksonville, Florida.
Quad City DJs despite how the name may imply, is only 3 members.
結成前、創設メンバーの2人は80年代後半から90年代前半にかけていくつかのヒット曲を生み出していた。
1996 年に彼らは再び大ヒット曲を生み出し、Billboard Hot 100 チャートで最高 3 位を記録しました。

Before their formation, the two founding members had created some hits in the late 80s and early 90s.

This success helped them get recognized and they were commissioned to help create music for the Space Jam movie.

Multiple tracks were created utilizing different tempos and instruments to find which one would be most suitable for the mood of the film.
The group was satisfied with their completed work and even admitted it was much better than they had expected.
The song was a standalone success peaking at #37 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Since the release of Space Jam, I had never really thought much about the movie outside of ironic banter with friends.
The movie was hugely impactful for my generation and everyone was familiar with it.
I remember going to a friend's house for a pool party.
I had brought the CD and we would all listen to it while playing in the pool.
Although the music isn't quite to my taste now, the track is still nostalgic and fun to listen to once in a blue moon.
