Today, I want to talk about an original program that was broadcasted on the network.
In fact, it is one of my favorite childhood cartoons.
Today, I want to tell you about Dexter's Laboratory.

In the early days of Cartoon Network, a series titled What a Cartoon was introduced.
The premise was for creators to regain creative control and showcase their original ideas.
In 1995, a show would appear which gained popularity.
This show is what would become Dexter's Laboratory.

It was created by Genndy Tartakovsky and was inspired by an early creation he made during college.
The series would run from 1996 to 1998 and conclude with television movie in 1999.
The two season totaled 52 episodes.

Due to its popularity, Cartoon Network commissioned two more seasons of the series.

However, due to working on a new project, Tartakovsky was not directly involved with seasons 3 and 4.
This had created a slightly different feeling and visual style compared to the first two seasons.
to further complicate it, the voice actor for the main character and a few others changed mid season.

The story follows a boy genius named Dexter.
He concealed a laboratory in his room behind a bookshelf.
Dexter prides himself on being highly intelligent and focused only on science.
He also has a sister named Dee Dee who is always energetic and dim-witted.
Dee Dee enjoys playing in the Laboratory, often causing trouble, and somehow often outsmarting Dexter.
Finally, Dexter's rival is another boy genius named Mandark.
Mandark also has a lab, but he is more nefarious in nature and often wants to prove he is better than Dexter.
20年以上観てなかったけど、子供の頃は大好きでした。

I haven't watched the show in over 20 years, but as a kid I really enjoyed it.
Someday, I would like to watch it again!
