I have a small follow up to our Twilight discussion from yesterday.
私が言ったように、トワイライトはアメリカで非常に人気がありました。
小説や映画に加えて、物語の別の適応もありました。
これは漫画の形でした！
As I said, Twilight became very popular in America.
Besides the novels and movies, there was also another adaptation of the story.
This one was in the form of a manga!
漫画の適応は2010年3月に最初にリリースされました。
角川書店が共同所有するアメリカの漫画出版社、Yen Pressから出版されました。
この本は大成功を収め、最初の 1 週間で 66,000 部を売り上げました。
これは当時のアメリカでのマンガの販売部数の記録でした。
売れ行きも好調で、グラフィックノベル部門でベストセラーとなった。
The manga adaptation was first released in March of 2010.
It was published by Yen Press, an American manga publishing company that is co-owned by Kadokawa Corporation.
The book was a big success, selling over 66,000 copies in its first week.
At the time, this was a record for number of volumes sold of a manga in America.
It continued to sell well and went on to be a best-seller under the graphic novel category.
本と同じように、それには大きなファン層がありましたが、それを非難する人もいました。
ほとんどの人はアートスタイルを賞賛しましたが、文章をすぐに批判しました。
個人的には読んだことがないので、どちらについてもコメントできません。
Much like the book, it had large fanbase, but also those who lambasted it.
Most people praised the art style, but were quick to criticize the writing.
Having personally never read it, I can't make a comment on either.
トワイライトのファンは日本にいるのだろうか。
I wonder if Twilight has any fans in Japan.
