As a kid, I was influenced by the opening themes of my favorite cartoons.
As I got older, I would watch MTV and discover current bands.
The joy of hearing an amazing song for the first time is indescribable!

「守ってあげたい」は、伝説の歌手、作曲家、作詞家、ピアニストである松任谷由実の17枚目のシングルです。
このシングルは、1981年の映画「ねらわれた学園」のために松任谷が書き下ろしたものです。
発売後、このシングルはオリコンで2位に急上昇し、70万枚近くを売り上げました。
この曲の成功により松任谷は再び脚光を浴び、彼女の11枚目のアルバム「今晩お見舞い申し上げます」に収録され、2枚目のナンバーワンアルバムとなりました。
"Mamotte Agetai" is the 17th single released by the legendary singer, composer, lyricist, and pianist Yumi Matsutoya.
The single was written by Matsutoya for the 1981 film "Nerawareta Gakuen."
Upon its release, the single skyrocketed to number two on Oricon and sold nearly 700,000 copies.
The song's success brought Matsutoya back into the limelight, and it was released on her eleventh album, Sakuban Oaishimasho, which became her second number one album.

From the moment it started, I felt its strong impact.
I knew there was something special about this song and couldn't stop listening to it.

It was only after doing research for this song did I learn just how prolific and influential she was in the Japanese music scene.
