数年が永遠のように感じられました。
中年になった今、時間が早くなっていることに気づきました。
数週間は瞬く間に過ぎ去ります。
数か月は気づかないうちに過ぎ去っていくようです。
そして、もう年末です。
クリスマス気分に浸り、2024年の最後の日々を楽しむ時が来ました。
昨年から頭に浮かんでいたクリスマスの曲で、力強くスタートしましょう。
メリークリスマス、ミスター・ローレンスです。
When I was a kid, time felt infinite.
Weeks felt like months.
Months felt like years.
Years felt like eternity.
Now, firmly in my midlife, I've noticed time has sped up.
Weeks are over in the blink of an eye.
Months seem to fly by without even noticing.
And now, it's already the end of the year.
It's time to get into the Christmas spirit and enjoy the last days of 2024.
Let's start things off strong with a Christmas tune that's been on my mind since last year.

この曲は、イエロー・マジック・オーケストラの坂本龍一という日本人ミュージシャンによって作曲され、1983 年 5 月 1 日にリリースされました。
この映画は大ヒットしませんでしたが、この曲は日本とアメリカの両方でかなり人気となり、クリスマスの定番となりました。
このため、この映画は長年にわたりカルト的な人気を博し、世界中の多くの人々に愛されています。
Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence is the title track to the film with the same name.
It was composed by Japanese musician Ryuichi Sakamoto of Yellow Magic Orchestra and released on May 1st, 1983.
Although the film wasn't a huge success, the song went on to become quite popular and a Christmas staple in both Japan and America.
Due to this, over the years, the film has reached cult classic status and is loved by many people all over the world.

Already being established as a success musician, his popularity and success only continued to rise after the score was released.
The soundtrack would go on to win the 1984 BAFTA Award for Best Film Music as well as the 1984 Mainichi Film Award for Best Film Score.
1999 年 9 月、この曲は DJ Quicksilver によって Watergate という別名義で「Heart of Asia」というタイトルでリミックスされました。
この曲は、イギリスのシングル チャートで 3 位、デンマークで 4 位にランクインし、その価値を証明しました。
In September 1999 the song was remixed by DJ Quicksilver, under the alias Watergate, under the name "Heart of Asia".
The song proved its worth by peaking at number three on the UK Singles Chart and number four in Denmark.

恥ずかしいけど、去年になって初めて知った。
浜松のローカルコーヒーフェスで曲を聞いて、思わず立ち止まってしまった。
友達のほうを向いて、何の曲か聞いた。
最初はゲームの曲かと思った。
クロノトリガーかなと思ったけど、おかしなことにドンキーコングだと思った。
後になってそれが何なのか知り、魅了された。
この素敵な曲でホリデーシーズンを迎えよう。
Although I've never seen the movie, I find the song to be beautiful.
Embarrassingly enough though, it was only last year that I became aware of it.
At the Hamamatsu Local Coffee Fes I heard the song and was stopped in my tracks.
I turned to my friend and asked them what song it was.
At first I thought it was from a game.
I thought perhaps Chrono Trigger, but then I thought, funnily enough, Donkey Kong Country.
It was only later that I learned what it was and became fascinated with it.
Let's usher in the holidays with this wonderful tune.

It was a remix and tribute to Ryuichi Sakamoto, who passed away in March of 2023.
