前回「Surfin' Bird」という曲を紹介したときに、触れなかったことが一つありました。
保存しておきたかったので今日紹介させていただきます！
When I introduced the song "Surfin' Bird" last time, there was one detail that I didn't mention.
I wanted to save it so I could introduce it to you today!
アメリカにはファミリー・ガイという人気のホームコメディアニメがあります。
この番組についてもっと詳しく説明したいのですが、それは別のブログ投稿に値します。
番組では、シーズン 7 のエピソード 2「イエスの夢を見る」で、主人公のピーターは「サーフィン バード」という曲を聞きます。
彼はこれが子供の頃一番好きだった曲だと主張し、署名を始めます。
エピソード全体を通して、そしてその後数エピソードを通して、ピーターは皆を悔しがらせるために歌を歌い続けます。
In America there is a popular animated sitcom called Family Guy.
I'd love to go into more detail about the show, but it deserves its own blog post.
In the show, during season 7, episode 2 titled "I Dream of Jesus", the main character, Peter, hears the song "Surfin' Bird".
He claims this was his favorite song as a kid, and begins to start signing it.
Throughout the entirety of the episode, and few episodes after, Peter continues to sing the song to everyone's chagrin.

また、これまでこの曲を聞いたことのない新しい世代にザ・トラッシュメンを紹介するのにも役立ちました。

These scene has become one of the most well beloved jokes of the series.
It also helped introduce The Trashmen to a new generation who may have never heard the song before.
After it's airing the song saw a brief spike in popularity, and the remaining band members even put on a live performance.
