今回はイタリアンがテーマです！
日本ではほとんどの人がサイゼリアをよく知っています。
サイゼリアはイタリアンをテーマにしたファミリーレストランです。
アメリカにはサイゼリアはありませんが、オリーブガーデンというレストランがあります。
Today I will introduce another popular American restaurant.
This time, it's Italian themed!
In Japan, most of us are familiar with Saizeria.
Saizeria is a family restaurant that is also Italian-themed.
In America, we don't have Saizeria, but we have a restaurant called Olive Garden!
1982 年に私の故郷であるフロリダ州で、オリーブ ガーデンはゼネラル ミルズ社の一部として始まりました。
このレストラン チェーンは非常に人気となり、急速に拡大し始めました。
1989 年までに 145 軒のレストランがあり、米国最大のイタリアをテーマにしたチェーン レストランになりました。
Starting in 1982 in my home state, Florida, Olive Garden began as part of the General Mills company.
The restaurant chain became very popular and quickly began to expand.
By 1989 there were 145 restaurants and it was the largest Italian-themed chain restaurant in the United States.
同社は現在、世界中で 900 を超えるレストランを展開しています。
オリーブ ガーデンはすぐにアメリカで人気のカジュアル ダイニング チェーンの 1 つになりました。
イタリアとアメリカをテーマにした料理が揃っているので、誰でもメニューから何か楽しめるものを見つけるのは簡単でした。
The company currently has over 900 restaurants globally.
Olive Garden had quickly become one of America's favorite casual dining chains.
With its selection of Italian-American-themed food, it was easy for anybody to find something to enjoy off the menu.
オリーブ ガーデンは、食べ放題のスープ、サラダ、スティック ブレッドでも有名になりました。
メインディッシュを注文した人は誰でも、スープ、サラダ、ブレッドスティックを食べられるだけ楽しむことができます。
もちろん、子供の頃は、メインの食事の前に焼きたてのスティック状のブレッドスティックをバスケットで楽しむのがいつも楽しみでした。
Olive Garden had also become famous for its unlimited soup, salad, and breadsticks.
Anybody who ordered a main meal would be eligible to enjoy as much soup, salad, and breadsticks as they could eat.
Of course, as a kid, it was always fun to enjoy a basket of fresh breadsticks before the main meal.
オリーブ ガーデンは子供の頃、私のお気に入りのレストランの 1 つだったのを覚えています。
私の誕生日には両親に連れて行ってもらいます。
若い頃はよくマカロニ＆チーズを注文していました。
年齢を重ねるにつれて、私は新しい料理を試し、チキンパルメザンチーズに落ち着きました。
I remember Olive Garden being one of my favorite restaurants as a kid.
I would ask my parents to take me there on my birthday.
When I was young I would order macaroni and cheese.
As I got older, I tried new dishes and settled on the chicken parmesan.
米国のどの地域を訪れても、必ずオリーブ園を見つけることができます。
次回アメリカを訪れる際は、ぜひ有名レストランに行ってイタリアン・アメリカン料理を楽しんでみてください。
