ハロウィンと同じように、クリスマスは基本的に1日ですが、クリスマスシーズンは約1か月続きます。
ハロウィンとクリスマスに向けての準備が、この2つを特別なものにしています。
街中の飾り付けを見たり、音楽を聴いたり、テレビの特別番組を見たり。
これらすべてが、この休日をワクワクさせるのです！
In Japan, Christmas has a completely different feel than it does in America.
Similar to Halloween, Christmas is basically one day, but the Christmas season lasts for about a month.
It's the buildup to Halloween and Christmas that makes them so special.
Seeing the decorations all around town, hearing the music, seeing TV specials.
All of this is what makes these holidays exciting!

しかし、アメリカでは、クリスマスは家族の休日と捉えられています。

The song tells the story about a person driving home for Christmas but is stuck in traffic along the way.
The idea for the song came to Rea while he was in that same situation.
While stuck in traffic with his wife on their way home for Christmas, he noticed that all the other drivers looked miserable.
He began to sing to his wife while simultaneously writing down the lyrics as they reached stoplights.
