"なぜ聞くの。
そうですね、5 月 4 日は「May the Force (be with you)」と非常によく似ているからです。
したがって、世界中のスター・ウォーズファンは、5 月 4 日をスター・ウォーズの日と名付けました。
これを記念して、ちょっと聞き覚えのある曲を紹介したいと思います。

As you know, today is May the 4th!
In America, this is considered Star Wars Day.
"Why" you ask.
Well, because May the 4th sounds very similar to "May the force (be with you)".
Thus, Star Wars Fans around the world have dubbed May 4th Star Wars Day!
In celebration of this, I'd like to introduce a song that might sound a little familiar.
Let the saga begin!

He would often use pop culture trends and transform them into comedy songs.

In 1999, one of the biggest events at the time was the release of the first Star Wars prequel movie.
This was perfect for Weird Al as it gave him an easy concept to parody.

The song is sung through the eyes of Obi-Wan Kenobi and summarizes the plot of the film humorously.
The parody uses Don Mclean's American Pie as its foundation.
ドン・マクリーンさんはこのパロディを承認し、子供たちがこのパロディをとても気に入ったので歌うのをやめられなかったとさえ語った。
マクリーンは、あるコンサートで偶然歌詞を歌いそうになったことを認めた。

Don McLean approved the parody and even said his kids loved it so much that they couldn't stop singing it.
McLean admitted to almost singing the lyrics by accident at one of his concerts.
George Lucas was also a fan of the parody.

For me, I was a big Star Wars fan as a kid.
When the prequel was first released I was in junior high school and couldn't be more excited.
I remember finding this song interesting and thought it was the funniest thing.
