Summer is in full swing!
Kids are home from school, the weather is hot, and we can enjoy delicious shaved ice!
子供の頃、夏休みはいつもとても魔法のようなものでした。
時間が無限にあるように感じました。
私は、大人がどうやって夏休みも持たずに生きていけるだろうかと不思議に思うことがあります。
しかし、自由時間が多すぎると難しい場合があります。
私たちにとって、ルーチンを維持し、目標に向かって努力し続けることが重要です。
As a kid, summer vacation was always so magical.
I felt like I had endless amounts of time.
I use to wonder how adults could live without having a summer vacation.
But having too much free time can be difficult.
It's important for us to keep a routine and make sure we are continuing to work towards our goals.

Today, I want to introduce a song about summer time!
The song is called "In the Summertime" and is performed by the British rock band Mungo Jerry.
1970 年にマンゴ ジェリーのデビュー シングルとしてリリースされたこの曲は、すぐにチャートを駆け上がり、世界中で第 1 位に達しました。
この曲はバンドのリードシンガー、レイ・ドーセットによって作詞・作曲されました。
タイメックス社の研究室で働きながら、彼は子供の頃の気ままな夏を思い出していました。
この曲は 3,000 万枚以上を売り上げ、史上最も成功したシングルの 1 つになりました。
Released in 1970 as Mungo Jerry's debut single, it quickly climbed the charts to reach #1 around the world!
The song was written and composed by the bands lead singer Ray Dorset.
While working in a lab for Timex he would reminisce about his carefree summers as a kid.
The song went on to sell over 30-million copies and become one of the most successful singles of all time!
この曲はその後、映画、テレビ広告、その他のメディアで使用されるようになりました。
2008年か2009年頃、私はテレビ番組「アメリカズ・ゴット・タレント」のオーディションを受け、この曲を歌うようリクエストされました。

The song would go on to be used in movies, TV advertisements and other media.
Around 2008 or 2009 I auditioned for the TV show "America's Got Talent" and was requested to sing this song.
I made it past the preliminary stages, but was quickly eliminated after that.
This song always reminds me of that interesting experience though!
