正式な日本語版は存在しませんが、一人の人物がミュージカルを自分で翻訳することに着手しました。

In our Hamilton discussion yesterday, I mentioned a Japanese version of the play doesn't exist.
This is only partially true.
An official Japanese version doesn't exist, but one person has set out to translate the musical by themselves.
Today, I want to share it with you!
その人物の名前はGen Parton-Shin（辛源）で、日英の俳優です。
彼はロンドン、神戸、ソウル、東京、フィラデルフィア、ニューヨークなどの都市で育ちました。
ゲンは、2008年にRENTの公式ミュージカルパフォーマンスのリードとして俳優のキャリアを開始しました。
彼のキャリアを促進するために、彼はまた、ネクスト トゥ ノーマル (ゲイブ)、ドラキュラ (ジョナサン)、ベア (ジェイソン)、ロッキー ホラー ショー (ロッキー) の日本の公式ブロードウェイ プロダクションで主役を演じました。
彼はまた、日本のブロードウェイカンパニーの共同創設者でもあります。
The person's name is Gen Parton-Shin (辛源) and is a Japanese-British actor.
He has grown up in cities such as London, Kobe, Seoul, Tokyo, Philadelphia, and New York.
Gen began his acting career in 2008 as the lead in the official musical performance of RENT.
Furthering his career he also starred in lead roles in Japan's official Broadway productions of Next to Normal (Gabe), Dracula (Jonathan), Bare (Jason), and Rocky Horror Show (Rocky) to name a few.
He is also the co-founder of the company Broadway in Japan.

Hamilton, the musical, has been being performed for over 7 years now, but has never come to Japan.
Why do you think that is?
それはアメリカの歴史に関するものであるため、パフォーマンスの文化的性質によるものだと推測する人もいるかもしれません。
しかし、そうではないと思います。
パフォーマンスの本質は、人間ドラマと登場人物の関係にあります。
これは万人が楽しめると思います。
Some might speculate that it's due to the cultural nature of the performance, since it's about American history.
However, I don't think that is the case.
The essence of the performance lies within the human drama and relationships of the characters.
This, I believe, can be enjoyed by all people.
パフォーマンスを日本語に翻訳するのは不可能だという人もいます。
単純に一語一語訳すだけだとしたら、なかなか難しいですよね。
パフォーマンスのヒップホップの性質上、多くの言葉は互いに韻を踏むように設計されており、特定のリズムを作り出しています。
Other people say that it would simply be impossible to translate the performance into Japanese.
If the goal was to simply translate it word for word, it would be very difficult.
Due to the hip-hop nature of the performance, many words are designed to rhyme with each other and create a certain rhythm.
ゲンはこの問題に取り組むことを決意し、自分でパフォーマンスを翻訳し始めました。
一言一句翻訳するのではなく、伝えられている感情的な影響を再現したかったのです。
例えば：
Gen decided to tackle this problem and began translating the performance by himself.
Instead of translating it word for word he wanted to recreate the emotional impact that was being conveyed.
For example:
原文: “Geniuses, lower your voices. You keep out of trouble and you double your choices. I’m with you. But the situation is fraught. You’ve got to be carefully taught: if you talk you’re gonna get shot!”
翻訳: “Dummies, lower your voices. What I am after has always been the same as you guys. I want to live without regrets. If you’re not careful, if it’s long, the nail will get hit (=shot)!.”
日本語: 「おバカたち声を下げて。目指してるものは俺もかねて同じ。悔いなく行きたい。気をつけないと長いと杭打たれる（撃たれる）ぞ。」
ORIGINAL: “Geniuses, lower your voices. You keep out of trouble and you double your choices. I’m with you. But the situation is fraught. You’ve got to be carefully taught: if you talk you’re gonna get shot!”
TRANSLATION: “Dummies, lower your voices. What I am after has always been the same as you guys. I want to live without regrets. If you’re not careful, if it’s long, the nail will get hit (=shot)!.”
JAPANESE: 「おバカたち声を下げて。目指してるものは俺もかねて同じ。悔いなく行きたい。気をつけないと長いと杭打たれる（撃たれる）ぞ。」
ゲンはこのプロジェクトに多くの時間と情熱を注いでおり、最終製品はそれを反映しています。
プロジェクトの公式ライセンス翻訳ではありませんが、品質は高いです。

Gen poured a lot of time and passion into this project and the end product reflects that.
Although it's not an officially licensed translation of the project, the quality is high.
