彼は、誰かに電話をかけようとしたときに聞こえた話中信号に触発されました。
ビジーシグナルが曲の冒頭の音符になりました。
通話中の合図が続く中、彼は電話を切らずに歌詞を書き始めました。
Originally released in 1968 by American singer Harry Nilsson.
He was inspired by the busy signal he heard while trying to call someone.
The busy signal became the opening notes of the song.
As the busy signal continues, he stayed on the line and began writing the words to the song.
リリースからわずか1年後、「Three Dog Night」という名前のアメリカのロックバンドがこの曲をカバーし、広く注目を集めました。
このバージョンは、アメリカのトップ 100 リストで 5 位、カナダで 4 位に達しました。
Three Dog Night のカバー バージョンは、子供の頃に聞いた覚えのある曲です。
車に乗っている間、私の犬はよくオールディーズ音楽を聴いていて、この歌がよく流れていました。
幼い頃でさえ、この歌が私にもっと深いレベルで影響を与えているのを感じることができました。

Only after a year from its release an American rock band named "Three Dog Night" covered the song, and brought it widespread attention.
This version reached #5 on the top 100 list in America, and #4 in Canada.
Three Dog Night's cover version is the song that I remember hearing as a kid.
While riding in the car, my dog often listened to oldies music, and this song would often be played.
Even at a young age, I could feel this song affecting me on a much deeper level.
I don't know what it is, but its a great song!

Recently, I listened to the original version by Harry Nilsson, and it is also incredible.
I can't say either one is better, because they are both great.
