ミニオンズには強いこだわりがあるとはいえ、バナナについて語るならミニオンズに触れないわけにはいきません。
ミニオン関連の映画は見たことがありませんが、文化的な浸透を通してミニオンズについて知っていることといえば、バナナが大好きだということです。
読者の皆様に楽しんでいただくために、プライドを捨ててミニオンズの歴史を調べてみました。
そこで今日は、その成果を皆さんと共有したいと思います！
Despite my obstinacy towards Minions, I would be remiss to not mention them while talking about bananas.
Even though I've never seen a Minions-related movie before, the one thing I know about them, through cultural osmosis, is their love for bananas.
For the enjoyment of my readers, I pushed my pride to the side and learned the history of Minions.
So today, I want to share the fruits of my labor with you!
ミニオンは、イルミネーション・エンターテインメントが制作し、ユニバーサル・ピクチャーズが配給した映画『怪盗グルーの月泥棒』（2010年）でデビューしました。
ピエール・コフィンとクリス・ルノーが監督を務めたこの映画は、心優しいスーパーヴィラン志望のグルーと、彼に忠実で予測不能なミニオン軍団を観客に紹介しました。
Minions made their debut in Despicable Me (2010), a film produced by Illumination Entertainment and distributed by Universal Pictures.
Directed by Pierre Coffin and Chris Renaud, the movie introduced audiences to Gru, a wannabe supervillain with a heart of gold, and his devoted, unpredictable army of Minions.
当初、ミニオンは大きく威圧的な手下として構想されていました。
しかし、映画の展開が進むにつれて、彼らは小さく、不器用で、愛すべきほど無能な助っ人として再考されました。
円筒形の黄色い体、デニムのオーバーオール、そして特大のゴーグルという彼らの新しいデザインは、シンプルでありながら、瞬く間に象徴的な存在となりました。
Originally, the Minions were conceptualized as large, intimidating henchmen.
But as the film developed, they were reimagined as small, clumsy, and loveably incompetent helpers.
Their new design, cylindrical yellow bodies, denim overalls, and oversized goggles, was both simple and instantly iconic.

Their singular purpose is to serve the most despicable master they can find.

After centuries of disastrous service, they isolated themselves in an icy cave.
Without a leader, they felt aimless, and became depressed.

Minions are now far more than movie characters.
They’re merchandise magnets, meme royalty, and theme park mascots.
You’ll find them on t-shirts, backpacks, cereal boxes, and just about everywhere else.
They even received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2021.
もしかしたら私だけなのかもしれないけど、ミニオンの魅力が全然わからないんです。
でも、もっと勉強してみると、ちょっと可愛いかもしれないですね。
でも、ミニオンを好きになるにはもう少し説得が必要そうです！
Perhaps I'm the odd one out, but I just don't understand the appeal of Minions.
Although, after learning more about them, maybe they are a little cute.
It will take a little more convincing though to get me to come around to Minions!
