いよいよ9月に突入しました。
今年ももう9か月が経ったなんて信じられますか？
時間はどこへ行ったのでしょうか？
日も短くなってきましたが、まだまだ毎日暑いですね。
We have finally made it to September.
Can you believe we are already 9 months into the year?
Where did the time go?
The days are getting shorter, but it's still hot every day.
最近、日本では9月1日が防災の日と呼ばれていることを知りました。
1960年6月に岸信介ら閣僚らによって設立された。
1923年の関東大震災を記念して制定された日です。
この日、特に関東地方では、将来の災害に備えて多くの人が防疫訓練に参加します。
Recently, I learned that September 1st is called Disaster Prevention Day in Japan.
This was established in June 1960 with Nobusuke Kishi and his cabinet members.
The day was created to commemorate the 1923 Great Kanto earthquake.
On this day, especially in the Kanto region, many people participate in disease drills to be prepared for future disasters.
その後、9月5日も津波準備の日として追加されました。
東日本大震災を受けてのことだった。
September 5th was subsequently added as Tsunami Readiness Day as well.
This was in response to the Great East Japan Earthquake.
こういった災害への備えはしておいた方が良いと思います。
日本は世界の「環太平洋火山帯」と呼ばれる地域に位置しています。
この地域には多くの活火山と地震が存在します。
I think it's great to be prepared for these types of disasters.
Japan is located in an area of the world called the "Ring of Fire".
This area contains many active volcanos and earthquakes.
私の勤務する学校も防災の日に参加します！
皆さんも安全を確保し、未来に備えて頑張っていきましょう！
Even the schools that I work at will be participating in Disaster Prevention Day!
