30 代後半の人なら、子供の頃にポケモンを楽しんだことがあるでしょう。
このゲームは、日本で 1996 年 2 月、アメリカで 1998 年 9 月にリリースされました。
リリースされると、世界中で大流行し、それ以来、その勢いは衰えていません。
ゲームのほかに、このシリーズの魅力を高めるのに役立ったアニメもありました。
今日は、アニメ映画の 1 つについてお話ししたいと思います。
If you are in your late 30's there is a good chance you enjoyed Pokémon as a kid.
The games were released in February of 1996 in Japan and September of 1998 in America.
Upon their release they became a worldwide phenomenon and haven't slowed down since.
Besides games, there was also an anime which helped boost the franchises appeal.
Today, I want to talk about one of the animated movies!
ピカチュウのバケーション、別名ピカチュウの夏休みは、1999 年 11 月にアメリカで放映された短編映画です。
アメリカ版は、最初のポケモン映画であるミュウツーの逆襲と一緒に映画館で上映されました。
Pikachu's Vacation, also known as Pikachu's Summer Vacation is a short film that aired in America on November of 1999.
The American version was shown in movie theaters alongside the first Pokémon movie, Mewtwo Strikes Back.
アメリカ版では、日本語のテキストが削除され、タイトルが短縮され、もちろん音声も英語になるなど、いくつかの変更が加えられました。
英語版では、先ほどお話しした Vitamin C の Vacation という曲も使用されています。
Some changes were made to the American version, for example, Japanese text was removed, the title was shortened, and of course the voices are in English.
The English version also uses the previous song we discussed, Vacation by Vitamin C.
ストーリーは、騒々しいポケモンのグループと乱闘しながら、ピカチュウがトゲピーをなだめようとするところを中心に展開します。
The plot revolves around Pikachu trying to calm down Togepi while getting into a scuffle with a group of loud Pokémon.
子どもの頃、私はポケモンの最初の映画に夢中でした。
この短編映画も、まだリリースされていない新しいポケモンを初めて見ることができて楽しかったです。
このようなアニメーションはいつ見ても楽しく、制作には多くの考えと情熱が注がれています。

As a kid, I was crazy about the first Pokémon movie.
I enjoyed this short film as well because it was first time to see some new Pokémon that weren't released yet.
Animations like these are always fun to watch and a lot of thought and passion was put into creating it.
Let's enjoy a wonderful summer vacation like Pikachu and friends!
