時間は誰も待ってくれません、そして私は今年37歳になります！
最近、まだ未婚なので年齢を少し気にしています。
でも、心配は横に置いて、素敵な誕生日を楽しみましょう！

ビースティ・ボーイズをご存知ですか？
彼らは、1986 年にファースト アルバム『Licensed to Ill』でデビューしたアメリカのヒップホップ/ロック グループです。

Are you familiar with the Beastie Boys?
They are an American hip-hop/rock group that debuted in 1986 with their first album Licensed to Ill.
The album was hugely influential on the music scene at the time and became the first rap LP on the Billboard album charts and the second rap album to become a platinum album.
Since its release, it has been hailed as one of the greatest rap and debut albums ever released.

The song we are talking about is titled (You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (To Party!) or simply Fight for Your Right.
It was the 4th single off their debut album but quickly became their most iconic song.
It peaked at #7 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts and has since been named one of The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll.
The song quickly became a mainstream hit and was associated with having a wild party.

Although the song is supposed to depict a wild alcohol-fueled party, it was never meant to be taken seriously.
The band wrote the song as a joke but many fans took it seriously and used it as a way to justify their alcoholic lifestyle.
The Beastie Boys later said they regretted reinforcing those values.

A music video was also created on a shoestring budget.
The video begins with two parents telling their kids to stay out of trouble while they are out for the night.
The kids decide to have a wholesome party and look at each other saying "I hope no bad people show up".
Once those words are spoken the Beastie Boys arrive.
They begin to cause trouble by chasing women, starting fires, and inviting more troublesome people.
Eventually, a pie fight breaks out and the party gets out of hand.
The Beastie Boys escape and the parents come home only to be pied in the face.
前述したように、この曲は非常に人気があり、アメリカのポップカルチャーの一部になりました。
私も子供の頃から「パーティーをする権利のために戦え」という言葉を知っていて、アルバムがリリースされた1年後に生まれました。
誕生日に派手なパーティーをするつもりはありませんが、それでも健全な方法で祝いたいと思っています。

As mentioned, this song was wildly popular and became a part of American pop culture.
Even I, as a kid, knew the phrase "fight for your right to party" and I was born a year after the album was released.
Although I won't be having any crazy party for my birthday I would still like to celebrate in a wholesome way.
I just hope no bad people show up...
