I have one last food related anime that I would like to share with you today.
This anime was broadcasted in the United States, Canada, and China!
It was never very popular and in fact, I never even watched an entire episode!
Nevertheless, I want to talk about 格闘料理伝説ビストロレシピ also known as Fighting Foodons!
もともと、コダンシャがコミックボンボンのために漫画としてデビューし、Fighting FoodonsはNHKのアニメに適応しました。
アニメは2001年12月11日に初演され、2002年6月25日に締めくくられた26のエピソードで実行されました。
Originally debuting as a manga by Kodansha for Comic BonBon, Fighting Foodons was adapted into an anime for NHK.
The anime premiered on December 11th, 2001 and ran for 26 episodes concluding on June 25th, 2002.
アニメはアメリカのフォックスキッズネットワークに持ち込まれ、2002年9月14日に初演されました。
もちろん、ショーはアメリカの聴衆を反映するために大幅に変更されました。

The anime was brought to the Fox Kids Network in America and premiered on September 14th, 2002.
Of course the show was heavily changed to reflect American audiences.
Many of the characters names would be altered, for instance, the protagonist Zen Makunouch would be known as Chase in America.

The plot centers around magical cards which have the power to turn regular food into monsters.
An evil kingdom wants to control the food and use the worlds best chefs to create powerful food monsters.
The idea seems to be similar to Pokémon, but for food.

The show was never a big success and never garnered much recognition.
I never watched it while it was on TV, but I remember seeing moments of it while flipping through channels.
During that time I was in high school and as a highschooler the show appeared too childish for me.
The one thing that I distinctly remember though is the American opening theme song.
It was so bad that it was memorable.
