But sometimes, I can't help but feel a bit melancholy.
I get hit with a wave of summertime sadness.

I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to introduce a singer that I like, and one of my favorite songs by them.
Today, lets talk about Lana Del Rey!

Lana Del Rey is an American singer and songwriter who began her rise to stardom around 2011.
Her style is very much reminiscent of 1950's America and she often incorporates American culture from the 1950's-1970's into her music.
She describes herself as a contemporary Nancy Sinatra.

Although her first album was a success, Lana Del Rey was still finding her image.
Many people criticized her as she hadn't fully come into her own personality yet.
This was exacerbated by her live performance on the American late-night snow Saturday Night Live, which critics said was the worst performance of the shows history.
