Witches have always been strongly associated with Halloween in America.
However, America also has a very long history with witches before Halloween.

In American history, we have an event called the Salem witch trials.
It took place between 1692 and 1693.
Many people were accused of being witches.
Without getting into more details, it was an influential event in American history.

As such, witches have been very popular in American culture.
When I was growing up, there was a sitcom on TV called Sabrina, The Teenage Witch.
