ロボットは車や飛行機に変形する。
カッコいいけど、いつどこで始まったの？
Have you ever seen the Transformers movie?
Robots can change into cars or planes.
Its cool, but when and where did it start?
１９８４年にアメリカでトランスフォーマーのアニメがあります。
大成功を収めましたが、でもコンセプトはどこからきたのですか？
In 1984 in America, there was a Transformers cartoon.
It became very successful, but where did the idea come from?
それは多くの物の混合物です！
一つ目は、アメリカのおもちゃ会社、ハズブロです。
二つ目は、日本のおもちゃ会社、タカラです。
It was a mix of many things!
First, is the American toy company, Hasbro.
Second, is the Japanese toy company, Takara.
ハズブロはアメリカで販売するおもちゃを探して日本に来ました。
タカラは、ダイアクロンとミクロマンと呼ばれる変形おもちゃを見せてくれました。
Hasbro came to Japan looking for toys to sell in America.
Takara showed them transforming toys known as Diaclone and Microman.
ハズブロはそれを気に入って権利を買いました！
アメリカでは、ハズブロがマーベルコミックスにおもちゃの物語の作成を依頼しました。
最後に、ロボットのデザインはダイアクロンの生みの親である河森正治氏に依頼。
Hasbro liked it and bought the rights!
In America, they asked Marvel Comics to create a story for the toys.
Finally, Kawamori Shoji 河森 正治 the creator of Diaclone, was asked to create the design for the robots.
マーベルがコミックを出版し、アニメが放映された直後に、大ヒットになりました！
トランスフォーマーは世界中で人気を博し、日本でもオリジナルのストーリーやおもちゃが作られました。
With Marvel publishing the Transformer comic, and shortly after the cartoon airing, it became a huge hit.
The series became popular worldwide and Japan even created original stories and toys for it.
ぼくは生まれる前に放映されたアニメですが、子どもの頃に再放送を観た記憶があります。
オープニングテーマかっこよかった！
Although the cartoon started in 1984, before I was born, I remember watching reruns as a kid.
The opening theme was so cool!
